How Canopy researches and reviews parent guidance
Trustworthy guidance should show who is responsible, what evidence was used, where the limits are and how an error can be corrected.
Who is responsible
Canopy Families guides are written and maintained by James Mackie, founder of Canopy Families and Mackie AI Enterprises Limited. James draws on 20 years in security operations. Product, legal, educational or safeguarding claims are not presented as independent professional advice.
How sources are chosen
We prefer current primary sources: manufacturer support pages for device instructions and official public-sector or regulator guidance for education, privacy and safeguarding. Each practical guide lists the sources used for its latest review.
How guides are checked
We compare model names, menu paths, service limitations and dates against the cited material. Where firmware or provider behaviour varies, the guide says so. We do not claim that network filtering is impossible to bypass or that automated safety checks are complete.
Updates and corrections
Articles show a last-updated date. Material corrections are made in the page itself and its review date is changed. Readers can report a possible error to [email protected] with the page URL and the source they believe is relevant.
Commercial transparency
Guides may link to Canopy registration because Canopy provides the managed service described. We do not hide that relationship, use affiliate links or present a paid feature as a free third-party service.
Scope and professional advice
